Boost!!

Ok i had another thread called turbo psi..and i had a problem with my boost..i wasn't up to par!! I was told i have a vaccum leak..well i took it to a shop and they tested it and told me that there are no leaks in my vaccum lines...but they said that one of my coil pack clips keeps on popping out...so they said i was only running on 5 cylinders...so do you think that could be my problem? I just dont know what that would have to do with my boost...But i cant think of anything else...I have a Greddy T.V.V.C. boost controller and when its up all the way to full boost...i am only reading at 10 or sometimes it goes up to 12 psi...I need help please..I wanna go fast! haha

what about that third boost leak that the one guy found? was that fixed?

you can check or find a cylinder that is not firing by disconnecting one coil pack at a time while the car is on. if the rpms drop when you disconnect a coil pack then the cylinder is firing, if not then theres your bad cylinder.
try doing this first and report back. i can give you more info if you find a bad cylinder

Ok yeah i checked it...I pulled out each plug one by one with the engine running and each one that i pulled out, made the engine's RPM's go down..then i plugged it back in and it went back up

But the thing is, is that the clips on the coil packs are broken so everytime i drive fast or hard atleast one of them will pop out a little...so everytime i drive fast i pop my hood and push them back down...but do you think that just by those clips popping out it would make my engine not boost as much?

Anything is possible. I can't remember what mods you have? Do you have chip/intake & exhaust? If you don't have a chip, then 10 psi is about right.

Get a long zip tie and run them around the coilpack base and the connector. Works perfectly until you want to replace them completely. Locate the zip tie end so that it looks neat.

10 psi or so is what should be expected out of the mods that you have, if you don't have a chip. 12 psi is pushing it if you don't have a chip.
