92 driveshaft problem

i hear a click noise when my car changes from no motion then to motion. Pretty sure my U-joint worn out. but i called around noone has a replacement. Called the nissan dealer and they want 850 cause they only sale with driveshaft. Just wondering what u guy think i should do.I read up its possible to mod the drive shaft but i could get whole new driveshaft like aftermarket .

Inspect the center support bearing. Clunking upon the start of motion usually means the bushing is completely shot and allowing the driveshaft to wobble a bit. These are replaceable for only $125 or so, some muscle required.

Oh yeah, in before KasbekZ suggests a 1-piece.

The bearing part of the center support bearing could be making the clicking noise. I'd advise crawling under there and finding out that way you wouldn't have to wonder what the problem is. If the u-joints & the CSB are bad like mine were then I would get a one piece DS.

I've had a worn CSB and it only clunked when I'd begin driving. At speed, the centrifugal force and its balance usually keep it pretty centered, eliminating vibration.

Crawl under there and look, as xpwarrior said. Asking for advice, receiving it, and then not investigating it is a surefire way to stop people from helping you in the future. lol
