Driveshaft Help.........

Dropping the drive line in my 72 240. Need some help with the driveshaft.

Looks like the flange bolts (at the rear end) face the front of the car, with the nuts on the back side of the mated surfaces. Usually one should be loosening the nuts, not the bolts.

But, the front differential mount is in the way. The bolt heads have NO clearance for a box-end wrench.

What do I need to do? Wouldn't stop working and go to the computer, but I got to a good stopping point so called it quits for the night................

you have to get a pretty short wrench and try it that way. It's been a few years since I dropped my driveshaft, but with two 12mm wrenches, they should fit in there just right, if the angle of the driveshaft is correct. Spin the driveshaft until it gets to just the right point to loosen the bolts.
