Well the gears have nothing to do with the horse power your engine is putting to the flywheel... On the other hand you would more than likely see a higher top speed with 6 gears, and maybe a slightly better acceleration due to the likely closer ratio of the gears in general. 5 speed has seemed to work great, I have had a 5 speed in all my cars... I don't even know if you could attain a 6 speed transmission for a z32 without some decently major mods either. Just my 2 cents.

well, changing the transmission is just gonna put your gears closer together. Not really change your exceleration, besides 6spd in a Z32 is gonna cost you a pretty penny for something that really won't do too much for ya.

I've never seen a 6 speed in a Z32. You would have to re-configure the entire gearbox since reverse is stacked on top of 5th gear. There's nowhere to put 6th gear. You'd realize minor acceleration gains, if any. Yes, the gear ratios are closer, but you'd lose time with an extra shift. You'd see more benefit in driving up hills and through multiple corners. It's less likely that the engine will bog down.

Thats like comparing apples to oranges, they're both completly different beasts. You can't even compare. Most of the time, I'll sit on the rule," If it's not broken don't fix it, and if you are gonna fix it, it better make it a whole lot better!" I know a lot of people won't agree with me on that, but that's just me.

To the best of my knowledge, the 6 speed attached to the VQ35 from the Z33 will not bolt up to the VG30. Like Orange said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

There's a 6 speed tranny that works with the vg30. It's extremely expensive and needs alot of work to install. Not worth it in my opionion. For the price of this tranny alone, you could almost buy a used Z33. Unless you've got G's to burn, concentrate on other aspects of the car.
