1991 tt hard to start

I have a 1991 TT that is hard to start after it sits for 4/5 hours. It starts just fine in the morning or if it sit for a few minutes. After it sits for 4/5 hours it will start but you have to turns it over and over a few times. Plug/air filter/ have been changed. Thanks Marvin

Any more details? By hard to start to you mean that it will turn over, yet not fire? Or does it fire but not start. I would check that you have ingnition spark (have you checked the recalled transistor unit?) and your fuel pressure (could have a fuel pressure reg that is sticking.)

Once running any difficulties at any speed?

I need to check for codes .

It fires but won't start I believe. I will need to check the transistor unit and reg.

Thanks for the help.

It could be one of many things, try being a little more specific on the side effects, such as sounds, feelings you get, etc.
