120k maintenance HELP!!

Started my 120k maintenance today and everything was going smooth even got all the shaft seals in with no problem thanks to all the awesome write ups others have done . Then I get to the crank shaft sprocket . I got the old one off using a puller but the new one just wont go on at all. In the write up i have it seems like his just slid right on my wont even begin to slide onto the shaft. Another problem I am having is that the lower idler stud wont start. The thread on the old stud looks good so I don't think the thread on the engine is screwed but the old nor the new stud will begin to thread. ANY ideas would be awesome to either of these problems!!

UPDATE: The crank shaft is definitely scratched going to smooth it out later hopefully that will solve that problem. And the idler stud hole may be screwed at the top. Would tapping it or using a helicoil cause any problems.
