Z aerodynamics are cool

I was cruising on the highway and a soda can was rolling along the highway (rolling, not bouncing). It happened to roll right into the front of my Z. As it did, it flew completely over the hood and over the roof without touching a thing. Amazing testimony to the aerodynamics of the Z if you ask me. By the way, I have a stillen gtzr-1 front fascia and the car is lowered with intrax springs. Just found the incident rather amusing.

Funny you mention that, something similar has happened to me on several occasions. Soda cans, newspapers, and remarkably enough a muffler tips.
That was a fun story. We're going into Chicago late one nite, following this POS van. We notice that it's throwing out a vicious amount of sparks. The muffler was dragging and scraping all over. While keeping my distance, I'm trying to find some space to change lanes. Of course, I just happen to be in the express lanes, if you don't know they're only two lanes with no exits. Not that anyone else seems to notice and be nice enough to let me over! Anyway as we go along and I'm distancing myself the tips of the muffler melt off the muffler and come tumbling out. So I'm swerving the car back and forth, hoping that the tips will go underneath. So do they? Of course not. They dance around in front of me for what seems like half a minute or more than outta nowhere, up and over they go. Very nerve wracking, especially when they went airborne! I was just hoping at that point that they landed harmlessly and didn't hit someones windshield or something. I don't know if anyone else saw but all of a sudden there was room to leave that POS van far behind me and I did so.
My car front end is completely stock however. I'm guessing the tip hit something in the road. Rock or bump or something. Oh well, at least no damage was done to my car at least. LOL

Haha Rizz, that's exactly why I never EVER drive in the express lanes!...even during rush hours. Those lanes are suicide, if you ask me, and I often find them to be slower than local lanes (minimal manueverability and tiny little lanes, so a lot of scared slowpokes there ).

As for aerodynamics, mine is a Z31 and with MY luck, anything and everything that comes my car's way...will most likely get hit. This includes small rocks, big rocks, soda cans, bugs, muffler tips, tree leaves, little children...you name it, I can hit it! Not that I WANT to, of course...

Hahaa, yeah I sometimes do that as well. But often times, I'll also have to cover my ears, cause when that rock, muffler tip, or small child smacks across the hood or windshield, it makes a pretty scary sound...

And as the great Homer Simpson once said: "If I don't see it, it's not illegal!"

Speaking of running over things....

I have a good story for you guys.

I was working for a dealership at the time. We were on our way to deliver two brand new GMC Sierras to a landscaping company. First we went to get caps on the trucks and off we went to some way westward little town in the middle of nowhere. The dumbass salesman in front of me runs over some retread in the road and kicks up onto the truck that I'm driving. Dumbass didn't even see it!! It was nearly the full tire for god's sake!! Needless to say when we arrive, I tear into him. Besides the obvious damage it caused, it scared the living **** outta me. The retread kicked out from beneath the driver's side rear tire. It struck the grille square and shattered it. Then it flopped over onto the hood leaving not only black rubber streaks all over it but also quite a few nice deep dents. At least the windshield didn't break. It wasn't saved from the lovely black streaks though and neither was the roof for that matter. The idiot said he didn't even notice that he ran it over. Too busy listening to the radio. Needless to say we had to take the truck back and give it to the body shop. Still pisses me off thinking about it.
Oh well, whatcha gonna do right?

lol No, I don't work there anymore.
That particular salesman got fired later on anyway. He actually had the gall to steal a set of tire from the parts department using the Boss's/Part Owner's Suburban!!! Talk about dumbass!! Noone said that criminals were smart.
