Hi. I've been searching for days trying to find this answer with no luck. So here is my post now. Is there any real differences between the Z32 VG30DE and the Maxima VG30DE? More specifically are the connecting rods interchangeable? Thanks a bunch.

The maxima never got the vg30de, they only got the vg30e and the vq30de.

 

Wrong. The VG30DE was offered on the 92-94 Maxima SE.

The connecting rods are interchangeable.

 

That says ve30de, which is about the same as the vq30de, with just a couple minor differences.

These are the cars that got the vg30de (according to wiki)

• 1990–1996 Nissan 300ZX
• 1987–1999 Nissan Fairlady Z
• 1993–1998 Infiniti J30 and Nissan Leopard
• 1992–1995 Nissan Gloria and Cedric
• 1989–1991 Nissan Cima

 

Good catch, I was rushing. I assumed that since the Infiniti J30 had the VG30DE (and was produced 92-97), that the Maxima had it as well.

im pretty sure the maxima got the motor too.

google it, you can find used motors for them.
