body differences in 70s Zs
Are the body styles any different between a 280z and 240z. Just curious because I like the car that is in this picture but I am not sure if i could make a 280z look that good.

Well to answer your question you could make a 280z look like that from that angle because the main difference is that the 280z had bigger bumpers and the rear lights were changed from the 240z up.
The exterior changes on the 70's Z car is as follows.-
1970 -1971 The rear hatch had vents in it not on the side C pillar like later Z's.
1972 - 1973 Had the vents moved to the side of the car supposedly to improve cabin flow.
260z Had changed rear tail lights and badges were changed etc..
280z had huge bumpers but these can be changed to earlier skinnier bumpers.
That's about it bodywise for them.
If anyone can point out what I missed let me know.
By the way the 1970 240z looks the best in my opinion.

Don't forget about the positioning of the turn signals from the front valence to the front grill. 240Z-260Z (valence) 280Z (grill). I think that is the correct spelling for valence...valenz, valance....hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about.

from that angle i would say its a 280z anyway.. with early bumpers.. can u see the vents in the hood, that is a 280z hood...
the front spoiler is a MSA spoiler i think, not sure what the wheels are...

That's actually a 240Z that has a V8 with NOS. You can also tell with the front turn signal lights, it's not in the grill. You can drop a 280z hood on a 240z - same size.
You can see his car on zparts.com - very impressive.
