Tranny Swap??

Hey. My transmission went out on my 1990 Z32 Auto. I was curious could a swap in a TT transmission even though my engine is a NA ?? Without causing problems. Thanks

Welcome to ZDriver!

1st Google result:

N/A and TT transmission difference? : 300ZX (Z32) General

2nd:

300zx z32 n/a to turbo [Archive] - Tampa Racing

The automatic transmission is different for a TT, but the NA auto would still fit in place behind the TT engine, but probably wouldn’t last long. They are different lengths and you would have to use the corresponding driveshaft. Both autos are geared virtually the same but the TT one is built for heavier duty.

Our member BlueKitsune has been working on a TT conversion with an auto transmission I believe. He will probably know the swap details...

Are you wanting to keep it an Auto I'm guessing?

If you want to swap the auto to a TT auto you will need the Trans itself, TT flex plate, torque converter, Shorter driveshaft and the Transmission control unit for the transmission you are installing. I think the starters are the same...

So unless your pushing more power then stock I would just find another N/A Auto.
