Speaker size
I have a 1993 300zx 2+2 and I am trying to order new speakers for the doors but I am confused on the size because one site says the speakers are 6 1/2 and another says they are 5x7. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

once you take the factory bose box outta there, you can pretty much put anything you want in there. Your only limitations are your imagination and space.
Factory non bose speaker brackets are 5.5-6".

Or you could buy a custom baffle to place in there.

Or you could custom build your own baffle and place whatever you wish. I think with some proper fabrication you could probably place up to an 8" midbass in the door. I went with a 6.5" midrange and a 6.5" midbass in each door, with a tweeter per door of course.
