There are no exact statistics of this sort. Believe it or not, not all Z32 owners and tuners are members of the forums. I'd say there are maybe a couple dozen slicktop TT's in the U.S. (if that). I've seen a few on twinturbo.net and 3zc, plus all the non-enthusiasts who have converted to twin turbo just because they know it's better and are mechanically inclined.

There are production numbers on slicktops, but I'm too lazy to get them. Search here or the 300ZX FAQ's on tt.net (there's a FAQ on numbers of different models produced).

^ I just have a lowly n/a slicktop. My son now has a '94 slicktop. that will be a TT as the funds permit. We did pick up a 2+2 swapped TT that was later converted to a single turbo. I couldn't pass it up for the $500 price tag. The motor will be converted back to TT config as we did get the TT manifolds and other TT parts.

The 2+2 may get gutted and converted to a track only car with a sbc at some point in the future. Yet I've been offered up to $1k for the car without a motor. :shrug

Edit: oh yeah, I know of 7 slicktops here in Socal, including mine and my sons, and none have been converted yet.

yeah see thats what im thinking cause i have only seen 4 slicktops here in az and none were tt.
i think having a slicktop tt would be a better use of my time and money than a supercharged slicktop which was my first idea.

by the way im not sure if it will fit your tt motor but i have a 91 intake manifold of an n/a i belive there the same.

TT is DEFINITELY a better option than SC. There have been people who supercharged their Z's... unimpressive results for the effort.

But don't try to do it to be unique - you're certainly not going to be the only TT slicktop (I know that as a fact). So why bother to care about how many others there are?

i was just wondering how many of them were floating around thats all. i know there arent a ton of slicktops as is so having a tt one would be kinda rare. and it would be a fun project for me and my g-pa, if i can fund the project.

Just joined the forum so sorry about the perhaps out of date contribution- I actually have a 1990 Slicktop Shortwheel Base twin turbo with a manual transmission. I live on the other side of the Atlantic (Ireland) and over here they are also quite rare. In the last few years I have only seen 4 or 5 for sale and I was actually waiting quite a while before I found one. They were never imported into Ireland originally and I'm not so sure about the UK, so we are essentially getting Jap imports. I am told that due to the fact that they are the light model with increased stability, that they would have been more abused in their earlier life than the more common long wheel base i.e. track days etc.. Mine has a good engine and the stock turbos are perfect, but like all cars of 18 years old, it does require maintenance to cover worn parts of the years.

In Ireland are cars usually made for left hand drive?
Is your 300ZX a right hand drive model?

All cars are right hand drive. Same as Japan, hence the fact that a lot of the sportier stuff is being imported from there secondhand - skylines, zeds, suburu's, honda's etc..
