hey guys i just purchased a 1991 z32 twin turbo.....im frm bahrain(it sumwhere in the middle east)theres a probleb with the shifter...i was hoping one of u guys cld help me out with it.....the problem is it wobbles frm side to side when in gear...and also whenever its in 1st 3rd or 5th gear...my hand gets smaked on the centre console.....

 

For the wobble, the shifter bushings are bad. Replace them.

As for smashing your knuckles on the center console, either the car has a VERY low-profile shifter, or your hands are too big... one can be resolved, the other cannot.

 

thanks a lot z lover......well yea ur right bout the bushings.....ima get that tmrw.....as fr my hand smaking into the centre console.....i guess ill take it to my mechanic to check it out.....im preety sure its not supposed to be doin that.....


and yea its the stock shifter......

Good catch. I've never heard of anybody having that piece installed improperly.
