hey guys im not gonna lie i have a basic understanding a engines and such so forgive me if my question seems stupid.

anyways i purchased my first 300zx about 2 months ago when i got it it was running great but as time passed iv noticed that while in 5th gear around 4-5k rpm the rpms would go from 4500-5100ish then back to 4600ish as im pressin on the gas.

any input as to whats wrong would be much appreciated.

 

the problem is that you are pressing the gas.... that tends to make RPM's go up.

 

Haha yeah ur right it is cause im pressing the gas and im sorry for my failed explanation what i meant was when im pressing on the gas the engine would spike in rpms and then drop rapidly and the entire time im keeping constant pressure on the gas pedal. Sorry about that haha
