rough idle when car is hot

My 1991 300zx NA starts up fine, drives fine but struggles to stay alive when idling hot. Revs are too low around 650 or so. It'll dip in the 500s and almost stall but hasn't yet. I suspect it might have something to do with the EGR valve but I don't have the means to access it. I'm thinking of just using the IACV to adjust the idle to be a little higher around 900 since it idles smoothly at the higher rpms.

Looking for some input because I'm not sure how detrimental having a higher idle speed would be for the car.

Thanks!

My 93 NA idles best around 900 or so. It has since I got it 30 years ago. Anything less will cause the car to stall when coming to a stop. Nothing wrong with it idling a little higher
