question about cma gears

I have a 91 2+2 and I converted it to twin one of my intake cam gears has gone bad I have one that is good but it is off of the other side of another turbo motor I have my question is .Are the two intake cam gears the same are the timing marks the same I put them together they look the same but I am not 100% sure so if any one knows for sure please let me know thanks

well theres a key way on the back so only one way to go on both intake cams should be same lay one on top otheir count the teeth on gear if all is good do it

thats pretty much what I did but now when I try to get it in time it is always one toothe out on at least one gear I dont know if i miss counted cause I did like ten times its a new belt so I know it isnt to long

yea timingcan be hard. Start with top idle pull then across both heads then crank On FSM there details about how many teeth should be in which section. Just double check timing marks are in right spots and u will get timing right.

We'll I got the car in time it started for about 30 secs of course I just wanted to see if it would hit before I put it back together it started sounded smoth as to be expected concidering the turbo pipes arnt hooked up and the mass air wasent or about any thing on the front any way I dont know alot of the names of the sencors forgive me I cant spell lol the I guess its called timing controle on the exhaust cam on the driver side has wires that run to the other side of the motor that plug into a box I dont know what it is called but that box is getting very hot do you have any ideal what that means if so I would love to know thanks

the sensor on driver side exhaust is cam position sensor. And the passenger side one is power transistor unit.

so what could be casueing it to get so hot you think it might have somthing to do with the pullys not on the car or what

not sure, read up some threads. I think I read that they get hot usually.. im not sure tho .

we'll this gets hot enough to burn you I mean actually blister you so I think it isnt normal I changed the cam sensor today but I think if that was it it may have already fired the power transister unit
