The secrets lie in the online repair manual. Click the link in the sig. It's the first link after the faq.
As for the hose, shop around. If one dealer wants too much, ask another. Not all dealers will charge the same for parts. If that's still too much, check the link page for other places to shop at. Z1, Ultimate Z, SGP Racing, Concept Z, and Courtesy all sell oem parts. Check with them as well.
