Pics

I figured that I would try to post a couple of pics of the Z. I've been a member for some time now but never posted any pictures. I put the wheels on about 3 weeks ago and I haven't had the opportunity to really go out and take some better pics yet. The pics of the other Zs were taken outside the hotel during Z Nats but they are local guys from our Z meets (Charleston, SC).

however, the Z is clean, and its a catchy color never seen the green before really, like the j-spec front and love the staggard look on these cars, but have to agree with dont know how much i like the actually rims style... like i do, but i dont, but i do... im kinda torn both ways... its wierd.

The wheels are Ruff Racing 278s with a gunmetal finish. They are 18X8.5 (f) with 245/40/18 and 18X9.5 (r) with 275/35/18. The are great for the price and I obviously like them otherwise I wouldn't have purchased them. The Z is a 95 2+2 with 55,000 miles on it, I'm the second owner. Thanks for the compliments, good, bad or indifferent. No man sized pics, I'll take some this weekend.

I like those wheels too. Fake two or three piece wheels are the best!

Does anyone know of a solution for the lug nuts? They are less than a month old.

I knew there was something about that front bumper that looked different and that I liked. It's that dang bumper! I also like the clear front turn signals and rear side markers. It looks really clean. Very very nice car! I wish mine had so few miles.

MikeZ, I see that your Z has the middle section of the front bumper painted body color; mine is black (faded to grey now) and not body color. Did you have this done aftermarket?

Hahaha! Very funny, man! I think it looks better. I'm not chasing the dragon of "turning my Z into a 10-second car" so I'm all about looks. OK, not ALL about looks, but a lot about looks; and I think that looks waaaay better than the black strip. I'll probably have it done when I have the hood/front end repainted -- there are some rock chips in the hood that I would like to have "corrected" but touch-up paint won't do the job.

As long as we don't go all then it's all good!

Nice. I still have a lot to learn about Zs. That's obviously one of them.

I'm still trying to find the answer to "de-pebbling" the lower bumper covers and side skirts.

The dimpling is for aero-dynamics.
Like a golfball.
Alot of nicer audis have the underside plated with dimpled panels.

EDIT:

Your from SC? I'm going down there this Monday to check out Moterey State, it's a beautiful place man

the "dimpling" is called rock guard. its there to kind of try to hide the imperfections created by anything that is thrown up from the road.

all you have to do to get rid of the rock guard is sand it down

Yep, born and raised in Santa Cruz. I would offer that you and I go for a Z run, but I have work and then softball on Monday, so I'm pretty tied up. I have a friend who graduated from CSUMB; I'm assuming that's where you're going to check out.

Have you done this or have any insight as to how to go about doing it well; or is it just a "take an orbital sander and just and go for it" type of thing?

I think I'm going to sand down the dimples (or have a body shop do it, depending on how tough it is). I really don't like that look. I mean, I'll take it because I love the overall design of the Z, but as far as this particular design aspect, I could go without it for sure.
