New Z32 in the garage, new problems?

Hi, my name is Eric and I recently purchased a 1995 300ZX NA 2 seater (manual) with 129k miles. I've had it and have driven it for a week without any problem.

Problem 1:
Just today at a stop light within 5 minutes after starting my car, it started idling back and forth from 1.2-2k rpm and stopped after I started driving. Stopped after I resumed driving and haven't experienced since.

Problem 2:
After driving home today and putting my car in neutral to open my garage and noticed a squeaking sound coming from the front of my car and couldn't figure out exactly what it was causing the sound.

Sorry to introduce myself and present my problems so shortly.

Welcome to ZDriver!

As with anything, start with the basics.
Check ecu diagnostic codes.
Check accessory belts (fan belts) for tightness.
Check idler pulleys.

Thanks for the reply and the manual. I'll probably look at everything shortly.

Did the previous owner do the 120K tune up on it? If not you should do that before driving the car any further. If the timing belt or pulleys let go while running, you will be replacing the engine.
