New z32 Convertible Owner

Hey everyone, I am new to this site and new to these cars. I just picked up a 93 z32 convertible this weekend for 2 grand which I thought was a pretty decent deal, although the rust/rot is a bit more extensive than I had thought. (Thanks salty New England roads). Its a 5 speed with 114k and seems to run and drive pretty nice aside from a slightly rough idle and hesitation. I have a lot of metal work ahead of me but I think it will turn out to be a nice car when its finished. The rust is mostly cosmetic, all the structural areas seem to be fairly sound. I will put up pics soon. Plans for the near future are to change the timing belt (car sat for 5 years I'm told) and redo the brake lines and replace the leaking steering rack.

Welcome to ZDriver! Sounds like you picked up a good deal on that Z32.

You can DL the (almost-'93) freebie factory service manual at XenonZ32.com Reference along with some other cool docs. Be sure to post some pics when you get them.

Thanks and welcome again

Thanks! I will download that manual for sure. I'm definitely gonna need it. I have done timing belts before but only on a 4 cylinder DOHC. I'm hoping the VG30 timing isn't too much more complex. Good news is at least the engine is forward-facing rather than facing the inside of the fender well like a transverse mounted engine.

Well here it is. Crappy ebay racing seats an all. I have a lot of work ahead of me.
