The z32 is quickly becoming one of my favorite cars. Out of all the cars
I've driven, R34 included (I lived in Australia for 2 years). Normally, I catch a few glares when I drive from people who have nothing to do but sit with their thumbs of their butts and waste time (I live in a town frequented by tourists), but when I drive Shelby's Z people just openely stare at it. She said it won't cramp her style so I'm planning on getting one myself.

I have to watch whos toes I step on with Shelby's car because her dad knows a ton about cars and doesn't want just anyone screwing with cars hes (semi)-responsible for. If I get my own I can work on it and not worry. As it is the Subi needs another wheel bearing (front this time, easier) and head gaskets.

Anyway this just turned into my personal chat-about-me room.

Here are some new pics.

<img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/373058934_a521ebda9b.jpg?v=0">

to be completely honest I hate it when people do this (crappy photo manips in Photoshop), but I also hate it when people cut me off, but I do it to others anyway. Just so we're clear on my overall mentality.

good looking Z. Get one yourself now and be a cute little Z32 couple. ;)

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 09:13 AM

yup... agreed... i aint much a fan of that grey color the Z's came in... it just appears dull... what is that charcoal or something? or was charcoal the black.... i cant remember any more... i like cherry red pearl and the white they came in.... and black...

ezramoore 01-29-2007 09:22 AM

It was either that one or a faded pearl yellow, or destroyed white one. Its more about how it drives than how it looks :), for me anyway.

I agree with ya there...... I don't even like white cars, but the best Z I found happened to be white and the color was a low priority during the search.

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 11:23 AM

haha... i know quality is much better to look for than color... i just would most likely hold out till i found a car meeting my expectations on all ranges of the spectrum...

ezramoore 01-29-2007 11:35 AM

pretty fast cheap
pick two
:)

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 01:16 PM

oh man.... im naughty i know... but im trying to clean up.... hey... i could be like thxone with 72 different women.... im only at numer 9 and gonna stay there for as long as possible unless im in love....

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:09 PM

i actually prefer the grey, and it's called oxford grey btw. white was not my favorite either, and i actually passed over my car quite a few times because i thought it was the Super White, which is about the worst besides the pearl yellow IMO, not Arctic White Pearl. i just happened to be checking a site that had z32 paint codes, and i decided to check, and found that in '95 the only white offered was arctic white pearl, which was the extra cost optional paint that year. i like it way better than the older pearl white, it doesnt have the kinda beigey dull thing going on. when mine is in the sun, the pearl really stands out, and its a nice bright white. it looks like fresh snow. ok, sorry, i'll end my paint tangent here. nice looking Z there ezra and shelby. you two arent too far away, we need to organize another northwest get together.

ezramoore 01-29-2007 05:16 PM

absolutely. I am down on Carr/43rd/Petrovitsky pretty often. would love to have a face to face chat with another Z owner. Do you by any chance have a link to the years and official color titles and codes? I'm looking to buy a Z now and would like to do a little research.

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 05:17 PM

YES!!!! thats the WHITE DAVE arctic pearl white... i love it... the pearl does stand out its kick A...... i used to hate whit on all cars but pearl white's are amazing....

edit: do a search there is a thread on here that actually contains that... but its old.. and also try searchin google might be able to find it... type in Z32 paint codes.... should come up hopefully. also,, you should go down to MSA E is prolly going... maybe? are you?

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:24 PM

this is a start. lemme look for the link i am thinking of.

ezramoore 01-29-2007 05:24 PM

MSA?
Thanks Entropy

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 05:27 PM

you shouldnt hold his hand threw finding paint codes... he is a big boy.... hehe :D ;) just yankin yer chain... i might actually help in the search im freakin bored

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:28 PM

there is a specific link i am thinking of, it has every paint and interior configuration, the years they were availlable on, and the configurations they came on (ie 2+2, slick, vert etc..).

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:30 PM

here it is. i referenced this a lot in my search for the right z32. hope it helps.

http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/colors.html

ezramoore 01-29-2007 05:33 PM

I wouldn't have asked, but I searched before and all I found was the ZBUM page. Somehow I got the feeling that "yellowish white" wasn't a factory name. But since I'm being called out for it :D I think I'll ask another stupid question. What is the 'vert.' you refer to in your above post.

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:35 PM

convertible. dont buy one :D.

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 05:35 PM

thats the list... ive seen someone post it on here to.... hmm... to bad theres no examples of the color.... oh well.. you can search each color on google image im sure and come up with pictures of cars of what it would look like...

and i went to az-zbums site... there some funn FAQ's there... like... why are people such assholes here.. and why are you such an asshole... and one response was like... get your thumb out of your ass and blah blah blah... ooo how funny.

EDIT: yeah in washington a convertible would not be worth it... they are uglier IMO convertables are for girls IMO... they are heavier fact and weaker fact... it rains to much there to get your moneys worth since they are "rare" and with the snow you get there also its very possible to trash the rag top.... imo, not a good investment

man i love saying imo lately...

entropy31 01-29-2007 05:39 PM

here is one more thread to look at if you are looking for a z32.

ezramoore 01-29-2007 05:42 PM

Ahh thanks, and there is no way I would own a 300zx convertible. Someone with taste's grandmother might smack me :)
Thanks again Entropy

91 Slicktop for 6,000 asking
Just thought slicklovers like Entropy might like to see.

entropy31 01-29-2007 06:05 PM

eeeewwww, red. and kid owned. i got mine from a guy in his 50s, who had SCCA trophies for racing 510s all over his house, and a cherry tr6 in the garage that had been in his family since it was brand new. guy was cool, even gave me the diecast z32 he had. i look at the owner as much as the car before i buy a car.

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 06:10 PM

that guy looks like a D-bag... and with those mods and hte other cars in the picture... i gurantee he was racing the shit outta that car... dont buy..... its a ticking time bomb.

ezramoore 01-29-2007 06:11 PM

Thats true. I'm not a fan of the red either. Shelby's car was owned by someone that just wanted it to have a stereo (which you've probably read, sucks), and big chrome rims (luckily we got to it before he could put them on). The spare was never even touched, the factory jack and so on were there, the headlight aiming kit has never been touched. Wasn't there a very limited production run of slicks tho?

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 06:18 PM

the red is nice but its AZTEC RED... i love the cherry red pearl.. look for that color see if you like it as much as i....

and yes somewhere betweein 2500 and 3000 slicks i believe.... i enjoyed my T tops though....

entropy31 01-29-2007 06:19 PM

yeah, 2500 or so slicks made for the US market. pretty rare. there are only 14 identical to mine.

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 06:20 PM

beat yah to it SUCKA!!!!

Did you just buy the gray one? If so, where did you buy it? Connecticut by chance?

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 08:25 PM

i doubt it... he is from washington... haha..

ezramoore 01-29-2007 09:01 PM

yeah, she bought it in bellevue, WA. North Eastish of seattle by not much.

hey snow, what made you sell your Z32?

snwbrderphat540 01-29-2007 09:19 PM

hahaha.... welll... i loved the car... and then got caught street racing by the parents one summer.. they were pissed... then just this past summer got caught street racing by the cops.... so even though i learned my lesson paying out the ass in court fees, year supervision, lawyer, and trafic school, i sold my car to further teach my ass a lesson. pluss it lost compression in one cylinder... i was hoping it was just a valve or timing issue.. but the oil test said otherwise... so to be on the safe side i just tweaked it a bit so it seemed to run smooth and sold it to some guy for 5k... plus i gave him an extra motor i got for free 45 miles away from my house... Z32 engines are heavy as hell btw... and yeah... i bought the car for 3.9k invested 500 into it.. sold it for 5k with a bad motor i believe... i think i made out well... the body and interior (sept for the one spot on the driver side seat) was prtty incredible.. the T-top corners looked like they were banged up but those are replaceable so no big.... man i miss that car.. its not long but wide and low and the feeling in the steering and positive shifter feed back was just amazing.. and the T-tops jsut completed it for the summer driving... LOVED IT! but wasnt fast enough for me. lol..... thats why i got me a beautiful early 260z so i can build it for a speed machine and i pray to god it fills the void in my hear the Z32 left me.... heres a picture of my old car
my X 1990 Cherry Red Pearl Z32:

emo236 01-29-2007 10:49 PM

my friend just folded a wheel under in his WRX Sti
an old lady came accross an intersection, so he swerved/turned to the right (where there was still ice on the road) and ran(EDIT: more like slid) it into a curb.

This was a couple weeks ago :(

snwbrderphat540 01-30-2007 09:32 AM
