Hey guys I'm new around here I just got a 91 slicktop about a month ago and it is pristine 9.5 out of 10 condition. Always garaged, 2 owner, maint records back to 98 and the paint is amazing for the age of the car. I love it alot it currently has a stillen cat back and an intake and crossed drilled rotors but other then that is stock. It lacks the kind of power I'm used to since I came from a mazdaspeed6. However I'm not interested in finding a twin turbo to trade up to as I doubt I could ever find one in the condition this is in. I found this on CL the other day.

It's 2 hours away from me and I have access to a trailer.

I would be wanting to swap the engine and turbos and all that jazz into my slicktop. It has new JMT turbos and all new gaskets and timing kit and water belt. It needs the top end put back on and the timing kit installed and turbos and everything. He wants $2500 would it be worth it for a swap you think? I could sell parts off of it after

 

Seriously $2500? New everything? Sounds fishy.

 

Yeah but they aren't extremely expensive turbos and everything needs put together still. It's also missing a down pipe and manifold.

 

Yeah, I agree with Rupe. But for only 2 hours away it's worth a trip there to check it out in person - but without a trailer the first trip. If you still like all of it, make a deal with the guy. CL attracts all the lunatics and scammers these days. Just look before you leap.
