My new Z32

I have recently bought a '93 Nissan 300ZX convertible. I was wondering how rare the car is? I suspect it has a stock LSD, the paint code is the CK2 and the VIN for reference is JN1RZ27H9PX001379. She has just about 90850 original miles on her, and everything is stock to my knowledge. Any input anybody has is welcomed because this is my first Z... and my first "Asian" lol. I will post pix soon. Thank you

welcome to the site and congrats on the z.

you can find info on how many like yours there are at this link.

http://www.az-zbum.com/cgi-bin/z32registry.pl

yours was built march of 1992. auto transmission and leather.

the brown color is fairly rare.

all z32s came with viscous LSD.

The car actually has a manual trans it it, you are correct about the leather interior and about the exterior of the color. I googled nissan 300ZX production numbers and it said that there were about 2475 convertibles made for the '93 model year. There is some body and paint damage (some of it mine... oops, some of it when I bought the car). Like I said I'll post some pix when I get her cleaned and looking nice. Thank you very much for the link and the info, I look forward to seeing everyone here.

One more thing, the sticker on the inside of the door says that the car was made in 4/92. Now is it possible that it may have been started in March of 92 and finished in April 92?

Maybe... but its okay, I'll forgive you. lol

Does anyone have an info on where it the Traverse City, MI area I can have this worked on OTHER than the Nissan dealership in town? I know of a place just outside Chicago, but I don't want to have to go down there unless its for something major and for the sake of keeping it looking as stock as possible.

Cocoa Bronze Metallic is a vert only color, and it's pretty rare (if I recall correctly, something like 53 cars were produced in that color, but twinturbo.net's FAQ is saying only 28 - either way, there aren't many at all).

Post pics please... I like Cocoa Bronze Metallic.

WOW!!! Now I have to keep this car as stock as possible, even if there were 52 made with that paint that is still RARE!!!

Like I said before though, there is some body and paint damage. I'll point that out in the pictures when I get them.

I was also looking on the Z32 registry and it came up with 55 Z32 convertibles with the paint code CK2...? Maybe there were a few more but regardless a car worth keeping stock. Except for a cat-back exhaust, you know to increase performance. >.>

There's many things you could do to the car to increase performance but keep it stock looking.
Better tires, suspension, and regular NA bolt ons will not take away from the "stockness" of your vert.
Congrats and enjoy the ride.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, like I said I'd post pictures of my car. However, I can't post them right now, not a good enough connection to upload the pix. I will be posting them within the next 36 hours though, I will appologize before hand about the quality of some of pictures though. I didn't have a tripod to stabilize the camera but most of them turned out pretty good. Keep an eye out for them... coming soon!

I also have a '93 Cocoa Brown 5-speed w/ 51,000 miles.
It is one of 103 in that color.

I am still trying to find out how many were automatics/5-speeds. They are the rarest of the factory Z32's.
