Edit: I got the diagnosis backwards. Thought you had a TT box in your NA, but you have an NA box in your TT.

Usually NA gears have a higher accel rate, so not sure what the prob. really is. Also, is your engine still TT?

NA and TT transmissions are identical except for the bell housing. In the future, please use google to corroborate your response if you're not familiar with the car in question. (See my signature.)

Does the car behave properly in other gears?

Again, the gearing is NOT different. (:::sigh::: If people would read my signature, I wouldn't have to repeat myself so often.)

You can floor it with a new clutch as long as the clutch is fully engaged; you just cannot powershift - that's why they tell you to take it easy. (If you let off the clutch too fast or rev too high during a shift, you can glaze a new clutch. But if the clutch is fully engaged, it's fine.)

Put it in second or third and floor it, see how it responds. Until you can say, with certainty, how it runs in other gears, nobody can help you. I suspect your engine is not running as it should, and thus it has nothing to do with the transmission but rather something you messed up during the conversion (or something just happened to start having problems after it).

Care to tell us what it was?

P.S. You chose the wrong car for drifting.

I think that depends on who is driving it, the z32 drifts pretty good but it's ALOT less forgiving then say a 240sx.

it drifts all good and it diffrent from the standard skyline, cef, laurel. it was a simple fix. kinda embarasing. the shifter had sliped down (out of the broken rubber suport) on an angle. then when itfelt like i was putting it in 1st it was slipping into 3rd... . . . . kinda explains y it felt like 3rd
