Ok heres what happens. Ill drive and it will sound completely fine until i run over a small bump and then right after i hit the bump i hear a loud knock and lately its been getting slowly worse but when i got the car it only squeaked and now it knocks hella loud. Any advice on what i should do to fix it? I think it might be the camber arm or the strut but im not completely sure. Any advice concerning this will definitely help! Thanx in advance

 

Have you put it up in the air (jack stands!) yet? I suggest looking for anything "loose". But, alas, struts can make a knocking sound when they are worn out.

 

Mine did this once before. took me forever to find and when I had it in the air I noticed the left side strut went much longer then the right. Turns out the mounting insulator tore of completely and every time I hit a bump it would sound like a loud knock.

Check all the rubber components of the suspension then check wear items like ball joints and tie rods.

 

Well i took it to a mechanic and they told me that theres half an inch of play near my strut area. They didnt recognize the camber arm and said it could be there but when i jacked it up myself i tried to move things around and didnt find any problems. Its a loud knock too like BlueKitsune said and its not a good sound. Where can i get a bushing if it is a bushing? Would Auto Zone or Napa have it? Whats the best way i can replace them?
