alright i have already made posts here but i bought a 94 300zxtt for a parts car. The engine is suppose to be from z1 motorsports and it tries to fire but it won't crank. there was a broken sensor on the timing belt cover that i took off my 96 300zxtt and tried to see if the car would crank and it still would not start. I believe that it is not getting spark but i could be wrong. I did pull the coil pack out and spark plug out and tried to ground it while i had my grandfather turn the key and i couldn't see it spark at all. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.

the sensor is on the left side of the engine looking at it from the front. The exact opposite of the crank angle sensor i believe. Anyone know if the 96 to 94 model sensor would matter.

Why, the FSM has an almost fool proof procedure for diagnosing **** like this.

I know but from what I read he was asking for the name of the part. Wouldn't hurt to tell him the name and common issues with that thing.

no its not metal its plastic and it has to connectors one on each side. It has a metal backing that is connected to the timing belt cover by four bolts.

yeah i found it on the internet. It is the power transistor unit. I believe the 96 model one should work for the 94 model engine.

Could be a long shot, but also check the fusible links as well.

Ive blown one or two before.
