Importing
Importing
I'm still on track to get a Z by the end of the summer, but I've fallen a little behind schedule. And since I am a college student, the TT's here are a lot more expensive than they are in Japan. So I've decided I'm going to import. So here is the purpose of this: Has anyone on the forums imported a Z32, or anything, and can tell me about the process? I know the basics about contacting Registered Importers, and I've looked over some of the safety and emissions standards. Granted I live in NC so some of the laws aren't as strict. Also, I'm considering having it dismantled in Japan, and sent here and I'll put it back together myself. Also, I know this won't let the car be immediately available to drive, but I can make the necessary engine mods as I put it back together. Help please.
LOL
You do realize that there are import taxes and fees that must be paid that drive the price WAY WAY up, right? That "cheaper" Z32TT (which also would lack the history of a USDM Z32TT) is going to cost far more in the end.
