Driving it hard is one thing but did he properly care for the turbos? These cars are reliable if they were properly cared for, and who really knows that but the owner and God. 128k is not too bad but is high for turbos. If the turbos have never been replaced I would set aside about 3-5k for that job in the future otherwise you could be out of a car for a while saving for this. The sloppy shifting sound like the shifter bushing is gone, no big deal about a $3 part from courtesy-nissan.com and is pretty easy to replace yourself also.

Now that I have never done (knock on wood), you might try searching on twinturbo.net. Maybe someone else has in the past and posted a write-up on it. Good luck.
