ECU question

I have a ash ecu for 93oct fed 555 single pop, what i was wondering is if i could use race gas with that ecu or would i have to have 2 seperate programs one for pump and one for race? I ran my car for the first time at 18psi but would feel a little safer if i used race gas.

You would need to get this looked at by someone who can help you.

I would assume you need to have the fuel maps re-written.

You can run race gas on a stock ecu or any other ecu. If you're running pump gas at 18 psi, running race gas will obviously reduce the liklihood of detonation, with the same ecu. If you're looking to run higher boost with race gas, you should either get another ecu program or learn to tune your car yourself. :-)

Another option that I have heard is using toluene to raise octane. From all of the studies that I have read, it is safer/better than a lot of octane boosters, is relatively cheap, has higher combustion and has no lead (which most race gases are leaded).

yeah, you would

need to get a piggy back fuel air computer, you can usually get one off ebay greddy/apexi make them and it will allow you to use a more aggressive curve as far as air fuel mixture while running race gas, and you can set it back to your ECU modified norms when running premium gas (91+) otherwise your modifed ECU just wont mix in enough air with the race gas to produce as much power as you can get .
