Cruise Control Problems...
Alot of the time (after pressing the cruise control button on of course, with the light on) I'll go to engage the cruise control with the stick on the side of the steering wheel (dont want any confusion) and it will not engage.
It's very iffy though. Sometimes it works first try some times I can drive for 30minutes and if I'm lucky it will engage. When it works all the features work fine and the cruise light comes on.
Also if it is working, sometimes when I go over a medium to large bump it will disengage. I dont know anything about cruise control systems or if a Z is any different then other cars. My friend says most cars use a vaccum system of sorts for the cruise control. But if it were a vaccum issue wouldn't it more or less work or not work not have a mind of its own?
Oh 96' TT 5-Speed
Thanks Tim

This might sound silly, but I thought my cruise control was busted when I got it, turned out I was subcontiously feathering the clutch.
It seems like the cruise control cancel switch in the clutch is vay sensitive, if you go over a bump it could be triggering it. That's all I can really come up with from over the internet other than saying you've got a short/open circuit.

On the clutch pedal, there is a switch that needs to be depressed for the cruise to work. The switch is under the dash and you have to get in the driver's foot area to see it. Make sure that switch is good. Check Courtesy Nissan in Texas for a good price on one.
Check the plug from the harness to the Cruise control module under the hood, make sure it's connected well, and is a clean connection. It's right in front of the battery close to the little fuse box. Follow the throttle body cable on the LEFT up and you will find it.
