300zx is slow?

okay so i finally fixed the 300, i jumped the ecu and ran the ground through the fire wall to the plenum* code 55 im good. so now these cars are supposed to have 220 at the crank right? i thought this car would be close to the power of my gtp. gtp has 240 to the crank supercharged but mine is stock and doesnt have a pulley. i also see that the 300zx runs around a 15.4 where as the gtp is 14.8-15 or so. the 300 seems to be a slug compared to my gtp. i thought it would be close becaus eit is a very small car, only a two seater, 5 speed w the t tops. my 300 also has a cat back exhaust..

so my question is how fast are the 300 zx really? is this normal? i know a tt would smoke my gtp but this is na so im curious and im not trying to be a troll or anything.has anyone ever ran a gtp or grandprix gt. i hope its maybe just crappy gas from it sitting so long or maybe the guy who had it last put crap spark plugs idk i just thought it would put me in my seat when i step on it.

Boosted cars tend to "feel" faster because the power increases drastically as the boost increases. Might just be that. Have you run both cars on the strip to get an actual number comparison? Also don't be fooled by their size, Z32's are not light cars.

i hear ya there. i havent taken my gtp out because its an old man with 233k on it lol and i just bought the 300 but with it running like that i wouldnt want some crap honda with beeze in a soda can exhaust passing me up. it seems like its sluggish untill about after 3k rpm then it starts to pick up. maybe its more of a top speed car, i ddint go on the freeway or anything. what does a 300zx 2 seater weigh? anyways like i said i just bought it and now that i have the code cleared i can get it smogged and get the plates and everything for it.

That's about where the turbos kick in, can't say for NA power though.
