190k too many?

I'm looking at buying a 90 na with 190k miles. It is in good condition and all service has been performed by a local Nissan specialist. I'll be using it as a daily driver and the asking price is $4750.
Anyone that has owned a Z with this many miles or more please let me know you're thoughts.
Thanks

Yes and yes. Too many miles and too much $ for that car.

The Z32 I bought this past year had 178k now up to the mid 180's. It looked a little weathered and had a high idle, but it ran great. First thing I did was the timing belt, to save the labor again, I had the water pump, cam seals, crank seal, thermo, and belts done at the same time. The high idle turned out to be a bad AAC which has something to do with air flow, it was allowing too much air in and tricked the ecu into thinking there was a vacuum leak, thus the high idle. $350 part, it's much cheaper to bypass it. Although I was told that I might have cold start probs, not yet! Then the carrier bearing went over a few months, causing the car to shake and vibe, $140 cb from nissan and my buddy's shop's press prob solved......then the clutch, and some shocks.......These are all necessary maintaince items, once you've taken care of em all you're left with a decent car. A damn fine car actually, I love my Z. Yea, $4700 miles is a lot of money for a Z with 190k on it, if you don't know it's history. Got mine from a friend of the family for $1200, knowing that it needed a little TLC. Just not $4000 worth of parts and labor, TLC. Just installed pop charger/exhaust last month, Next on the line is paint/rims .....thanx to Seraphic (sp?) I know where to get my third brake light panel I'll try to get some pics up.... I love the JDM 99 spec from fascia/bumper cover, does anyone know where I can get it for less than $450-500?

peace

Honestly, I can pick up a TT for that with less miles than that. If it's a TT and you eventually plan on rebuilding or can handle all the issues that will come with a high mileage Z32...go for it. But still a little pricey for that model unless the body and interior is in pristine condition. You can probably pick up an NA with about 100K or less for about that same price. TT's are great but you got to know what to look for when buying them considering they are starting to become 15 year old + cars.

dude dont buy that car...check out autotrader, you'll find so much more for your money.

i bought mine last june, just needed a new timing belt, 1990 NA, IMMACULATE body, 82,000 miles, $4500...to pay that much for a car with twice the miles? you'd be insane man...and if you ever plan on turboing it, please, just wait anoter season and buy a TT next year or find the money and just buy a TT, i'm going through the hell of a tt swap as we speak. and its costing more than just buying a tt woulda. but on the other hand, my motor will now have under 40k on it...that's hot, plus i'll have more pride in the car...that's hot, plus...how many people talk **** about "oh i'm doing a TT project on this and that car..." as opposed to how many people ACTUALLY go through with the whole project...that's hot too. but still, as far as cost efficiency goes...if you want tt, buy a tt....dont do it yourself unless you're a baller like me lol

Thanks for all of the information. I made an offer on the car and it was too low so I'm still looking for a NA daily driver.
