Moved to 300ZX (Z32) Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis.

Surprisingly, the z32 is famous for having a hood squeak. Seriously. :) If you haven't, you might try lubricating the hood latch and then adjust it down a little to hold the hood tight.

The ball joints and rod ends are lifetime sealed. There is no lubricating them. On my car, when it's colder than normal, I have a squeak in my left front shock, upper spring seat. It goes away after a couple of minutes of driving and I haven't done anything about it.

Um thanks for the guy with the tip but for everyone else am i not in the suspenison section unless our computers post labels differently.

NismoPick 10-04-2007 08:50 PM

This should be a hint. :D

you ARE in the suspension section, because i moved the thread here.

snwbrderphat540 10-04-2007 09:08 PM

yeah it possible... very possible its the hood, you can try adjusting the ruber bump stops on it as well, maybe put a little grease on them.

"Dee-Dee-Deee!":038: lol

cake872 10-05-2007 09:29 PM

Oh damn, sorry I feel like a clown. Didnt realize is all. Thanks thou. If it doesnt turn out to be my hood do you think i might need new bushings?

MikeZ 10-06-2007 11:47 AM

they are like $2

cake872 10-07-2007 09:55 PM

Well I dont just wanna buy something and it not be the prob but yea i think ill do those weather or not.

cake872 10-31-2007 10:52 PM

My friend was having the same prob. I sprayed up all the joints on my front end with diseal fuel and it killed the squeaks. WOOOPIIEEEEEE

NismoPick 11-01-2007 08:46 AM

Fuel + rubber & grease... hum... I like where this is going. :D

cake872 11-01-2007 01:23 PM

Well it looked to me like those joints were lacking in grease if thats whats even suppose to be ther but it was a quick fix. I thought my front end was gonna fall out for all the noise it was makin. and I did check to see if anything was lose.

b300z 11-01-2007 03:27 PM

so you replaced grease with fuel. next youll replace the bushings and rods

91zxtt 11-01-2007 08:53 PM

....but hey, the squeak went away so all must be ok now....:075:

MikeZ 11-02-2007 03:25 AM

Did you adjust the hood latch? my squeak went away...

cake872 11-03-2007 06:28 AM

Na my hood wasnt makin any noise but I do need to adjust it because my hood rest close to an 1/8" to high. Is it easy?

91zxtt 11-03-2007 06:18 PM

Um....yes....find the latch....add lubricant. It's easy unless you're a retard.

cake872 11-04-2007 08:48 AM

If the lastch is loose then lub wont do anything. And I dont hav a latch noise problem.
