Poll - Help me decide which wheels.

Which of the following would look the best on my white Z?

5Zigen - FN-01R-C (Bronze)

Exel - DL-46 (HyperBlack) -

ADR Cypher

I will be getting 18" diameter wheels. Other than stock widths and offsets, what are my options?

I thought you were cheap? Did you hit the lotto?

I don't like the bronze/gold look, so the ADR's would be my #2 choice.

You could run 17's up front and 18's in the rear. It's a bit less expensive and that is the same set-up that Steve Millen used when he raced the Z32. It supposedly handled better that way. That's what I have. 255/40/17 in front with 275/35/18 in the rear. Very nice.

Sigh, I am, my wife is letting me save my nickles from the soda cans and water bottles. I'll probably end up having to buy her a new car for her old wheels.

b300, I like those too, it's like I gotta have 5 spokers. I like the wheels with narrower spokes, that'll better show off the drilled & slotted rotors I'm gonna buy with the money from my paper route.

I don't get it.

Soda cans, water bottles, a paper route and a son that can hack into NASA's computer systems?!? What kinda 3 ring 'Family Circus' are you runnin' over there?

hey, you could use your son on some top secret projects, like break into a company account and steal fractions of pennies every time a transaction is made, like on Office Space.

oh and no daytons

It's a four ring circus, the 17 year old makes like $300/week selling his music CD's on ebay.

I tend to get into these situations where , as far as anybody knows, I don't have any extra money. Then things just show up. (hence the cans and bottles, Gee honey, I had a lot of them to cash in)

Kinda the opposite of that Harley commercial on t.v., A while back, I ended up coming home with a new motorcycle and the next weekend I had to go and buy a new dining room set too.

does 35 mm offset fit the 300?

That's fine ........ just vote.... lol

I like the hyperblack over the gunmetal or silver colors.

I've been having a hard time finding out from the Z community what widths and offsets will work. Maybe no one knows. If anything, call up wheelmax and tell them you're interested in this wheel and you need to know if a 35 o/s will fit.

yea tt_dan
the pattern is 5x114.3
the offset is 42, which is pretty dang close still.
i tried to put some rims with an offset of 40 and they rubbed pretty hard.
so canyon_carver, an offset of 45 would be good, which i think is what 5zigens use

Actually, my service manual says that the stock offest is 45mm. A 40mm or 42mm offset, I believe, moves the center of the wheel outboard which would be beneficial to wider wheels. I'm almost positive that there is more wheel design criteria that comes into play than just diameter, width and offset. Especially where it comes to clearing the calipers.

the other thing i have to think about is HICAS.... if you have a turbo car, your 4 wheel steering may kick in and make the tires rub, thats one of the things i am worried about when i get some rims.... its only like a 1 degree difference in teh tires, but it may rub..... other than that, it should be fine.... tell us how everything turns out tho.

yeah i wouldnt go with the adr's personally they look great but after spending a ton of money and having to get two front rims after the 2nd pair i found out some distuirbing stuff; btw i have 19" adr's (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/671127) but the thing about them is most places have stoppes stocking and selling them because they are infamous for random hairline cracks and easy damaging; so after getting the first pair i eventually had to replace the front two; but your damn right i got the "insurance" from the sales place this time

That's good to know. We should really start using the product reviews section on this forum. It would really help us make informed decisions about the stuff we want to buy on our Z's.

LOL................ this sounds like something you'd have the time to do there with you're leg propped up. I was actually thinking, since I have a 36" wide color CAD plotter, of tinkering with the picture scales and printing out the wheels full size and taping them to my tires. But I was bored the other night at home and started playing with photoshop

Just the fact that you even thought about taping a printout to your car makes me laugh. That is dedication there!

It could've been worse. What if he didn't know that they wouldn't fit and shipped them out to you. That would've sucked.
