metallic or semi-metallic?

metallic or semi-metallic?

wassup guys i'm getting slotted/x-drilled rotors for my z n was wondering whether i should go with metallic or semimetallic brake pads. whats teh diff btw the two? any brand recommandation are also appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the "metallic" & "semi-metallic" pads are the same thing. You can get anything from stock semi-metallic replacement pads up to pads that have carbon fiber materials or ceramic materials molded in. Technically all modern brake pads are a composite material.

Personally, I stay with a stock type or slightly upgraded pad material. The reason for this is because all of these lifetime guarantee pads are great because the pads don't wear out. But, instead, these high $ pads wear out your rotors. I'd much rather replace a set of $30 brake pads than have to replace a $110 pair of brake rotors. I've been thru my share of both tho.
