so my pads and rotors are about shot. the rotors are too far gone to be turned. i have priced at all the usual places, but just wanted to idiot check myself and make sure there were no deals i had overlooked. price is a big factor, but i want OEM or better quality, no ebay junk.

this package from CZP is the one i may end up going for, either slotted or dimple/slot. bit more than i "want" to spend, but its actually less than OEM, and an upgrade as well. any other suggestions at or below this price point that i may have overlooked?? keep in mind, this is a daily driver that sees the occasional mountain road or auto-x event, so super high performance is not a concern.

If we can get enough people
interested in buying a BBK from arizonaZcar.com Its the wilwood 332mm fronts. Maybe we can get him to knock the price down to 1100 or so for a complete kit.

looks good. spl has a kit that uses just blank brembo rotors, but comes with a master cylinder brace

maybe also look into getting the calipers rebuilt, or buying rebuild kits for them

unfortunately no. BBK is not on my list at the moment, nor in my acceptable price range. not that i am opposed to big brakes, just dont need them at the moment.

yeah, i looked at that one. saves about $50 too, SPL has better shipping rates. and blanks would be fine for my use. i just have to decide if i really want slotted or not.

Edit: SPL kit comes with Hawk HPS pads versus the CZP Axxis/PBR Metal Masters. getting the CZP kit with the Hawks adds $90 more. so better pads+master cyl brace-slotted=better deal in my eyes. unless anyone sees a better deal, the SPL is likely the way i'll go.

I vote the spl kit also.
metal masters are really dusty pads as well.
Dunno how dusty the Hawks are as I have no experience w/them.

from what i have read, they are a bit dusty as well. what i might end up doing is skipping the package and just get the brembo blanks and cheaper pads. i need wallet friendly right now (clutch is starting to go too), and dont really need the SS lines, the brace, or fancy fluid. just need the car to stop .

i got a set of front pads made by raybestos and they have been GREAT, there is very minimal brake fade and almost no dust, the downside to them is that they are a little hard before they warm up..

I just remember the metal masters that i bought the very first time i did the brakes on the Z.
they were horribly dusty.

you'll want the brace and the fancy fluid if your occasionally auto-x or hitting the mountain pass, the SS lines help alot too. Nothing worse than about to hit a corner and you hit the brake pedal and it goes to the floor and you don't slow down any. At least get the "fancy fluid", mine was booling and i had no brakes for about a half of a lap at hallett until I coudl get off the track.

I like coz's kit, have not seen SPL's. anyone got a link?

yeah
Just get Brembo rotors all the way around, and pick up some good pads, hawk, axxis, nissin, greenstuff, whatever you can find cheapest. Should work out cheaper than stock rotors and pads. Re-bleed the system with DOT 3/4 fluid and you should be fine.

I really liked my pair of AXXIS pads! They were great for my last round of autocross! They didn't poop out on me like my stockers did last month

the ammout i do these things currently make that stuff unneeded. i can get it later when funds allow.

yeah, i think thats what i will end up doing. i considered the packages cause it is stuff that i would eventually like, but i dont need it right now, and i do need the money.
