350 wheels on a 1990 300zx Help!!!

Hello z drivers, I have a question, I just bought a set of 350 rims with some bridgestone potenza tires 235 50 R17, great looking charcoal rims and I would say about 75 percent thread on the tires. I'm running stock 235 50 R16 rims on a 1990 300zx NA, I thought I hit a jackpot when I pursed them for $250 bucks, but now I'm thinking I will need to buy some tires because of the measurements, will this set up work with my car or not, thanks for your help.

This is a continuation of your last post asking if the 350Z wheels even fit, and I suggested a search. With diligent searching, you would have seen the wheels fit great, but sometimes the tires that come on them don't fit quite right. Usually too tall and rub on bumps or while cornering/turning.

I love the wheels and the price was great, I'm just afraid they may be just a little to tall I haven't installed them, I'm going to check, I'm just trying to see if they will rub real bad or something I can live with, what do you think?

If you look at the numbers "235 50" and "235 50" you may notice they are identical. Then if you move along to "16" and "17", you'll notice there is a difference of 1. Thus, your overall diameter will be 1 inch larger on your new rims (keep in mind it's only this simple because your tire dimensions are the same). It should still fit fine at stock height, but it might look a bit funny. Maybe you won't even notice. The aesthetics are up to you.

What happen is the rear fir and look real nice but the from I had to drop it to 215-45 because it didn't fit. Now I'm happy with the look but for some reason or another the car seems slower and when I go at speeds above 70 it kinda shakes a little when it never did it before with the stock rims, very upset with the performance, the tire guy says the rims are good and so is the balancing so I guess maybe it was the used the bridgstones in the rear that maybe something was not right with the tire ? Don't really know any suggestions?
