Has anybody replaced his low beams with a HID kit?
The ones made for the 99 model run for about $1600 which is simply too much.
I know there are millions of retrofit kits on the market but there is no such thing as a "bolt-on" HID kit that works best with the Z headlights.
I also heard that HID headlamps in addition to the bulbs use special projector lenses to avoid hotspots and glare. The Z comes with halogen projector lenses which are only designed to work with the stock HB4 / 9006 bulbs.
Any opinion?

you can check Twinturbo.net. I believe Yugobernie (or something like that) did it and he could tell you how, but do a search first because there was some talk about it in the past and if you ask a question on there without searching first you are bound to get eatin alive
I've seen it done. It's not that hard to do. No, you don't have to change much of anything at all. You'll only have to reaim your headlights down a bit for the increased lighting. If your interested I can get them for you for about $650.
sounds good, but i am going with an OEM Bi-Xenon HID Projector Set....same ones used on factory Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, etc.
from Phillips or Bosch
...come with projectors that are designed to work with all the other components. Z stock lights have low quality halogen projectors.
my 2 cents
