hey, please dont post hate , but i just wanted to know what u guys think about underbody neon. my couzin has a 240sx and he got a kit for his car and i looks pretty good, and i was thinking about getting some for mine... it looks good on his because his car is pretty much stock in appearance, so it looks tasteful...

 

I don't care for them. Too F&F for my taste. I think neon lights cheapen the look of the car, especially on a car such as the Z32. I expect an Uncle Ben's post from Entropy now

 

I 2nd that... Its makes your car look like a walking christmas tree... Well since its a Z, it wouldn't really be walking.......

i'm not a big fan of the neons, but its not as bad as shopping cart wings, altezza lights, fake cf, or godawful bodykits. at least you dont see the lights in the daytime. i'm mainly against fake *** "performance" parts like coffee cans; r-type/vtec/nos/performance part stickers on cars that dont have the part or whatever; LAMBO DOORS, and stuff like that. there are a few TASTEFUL body kits that i actually like, just not all that ridiculous F&TF crap.

 

I think that when done tastefully anything can look good. Although I dont normally see any good kits installed I think that if it is mounted up far enough under the car so that the light can only be seen on the ground, it can look good, damn good if it matches the car well. Its when you can see the light bars from the side of the car that I think it looks stupid.

I recommend the Street Glow Gold series, they're the brightest i've ever seen or heard of, but I dont recommend putting em on unless you can hide them from being seen from the sides.

I haven't ever tried any kits myself but if you do try it, good luck.

 

Well I think there pretty gay. I agree with ZXDude in that they make the car look cheapy.

 

Go to a car show and tell the best in show winner that his car looks gay with the lights, see what he says.

 

Not that i'm defending the thousands of truley gay setups tho. I just think that they too have their place, JUST DO IT RIGHT.

 

i was lookin into those streetglow gold series and then i saw these plasmaglow led kits that you can change the color to anything you want. it goes for about 150 on ebay, so ima end up getting that cuz u can change it to any color u want..

 

my cousin has them on his integra.
tube neon kits suck. His kept breaking.
those new l.e.d. kits look like they'll last longer.
no, his intergra is not riced out, yes it's tasteful, no it doesn't have a bodykit, no it doesn't sound like a motorcycle, yes its fast(not as fast as my Z of course), and yes the neons look good.
I might be inclined to do some neons in the future. but that's a long ways away.
Only thing I would suggest is to only turn them on when parked and don't drive with them on unless you really feel the need to get pulled over and get harrassed by the police.

 

yeah thats another thing, its illegal while your driving. plus i dont think its tasteful in the least bit.

 

Yea, forgot about the LED setups, my friend installed one of the tube kits and within an hour had already smashed one of the long ones out on a steep driveway (lowered BMW). He was pissed and recommended to not get the tube types and mentioned the LEDs, guess I just forgot about em. They sound like a better deal.

I suppose you better get a good battery, I suggest Optima Yellow Top. I believe too they look decent if done tasteful, but I don't know if I would do it. Maybe way down the road, one of the last mods, same with lambo doors.

i have neons on my 99 escort zx2. ive broken and replaced a few of the bulbs. street glow gold series is what i have. i like them on it. i wouldnt put them on my z tho. got quite a few tickets for them with the scort.

 

Yeah, I would hardly turn mine on so I feel like it would be money down the drain.

However, I just purchased a Phillips 6000k HID kit, I will post pics when I get them here and installed. Right now in my avatar I just have the Super Whites and I don't feel they produce enough light. The lights I have in my avatar are for sale btw. Only have about 6 hours on them. PM me if interested..Also, I'm still selling the Naturally Aspirated stickers if anyone wants to buy..

 

Im having a Phillips kit retrofitted to my headlights. It's taking forever though. I bought brand new headlights that became damaged while they were being shipped to Illusion Lighting. It took UPS a while to get that taken care of. They are paying for another set.

 

How much? How much for 20? Are there 20 n/a'ers around here?
