Southern CA paint shop
 

I've asked this before...a LONG time ago, but with no answers, so how about we try this again. Does anybody know of any shops in the southern CA area that has proven to do a good job on a a pearl white coat? I need my front bumper repainted. Tahkns for any help. Oh and 91, NorCal is ok too if you know a place in the bay area.

Stuttgart Motors in Redwood City did a great job a matching the paint on my bumper. There primarily a Mercedes shop. Richard Ott is the owner, but he's not very nice and he's a full blown kraut. The paint guy is Teddy, and he knows his way around a bodyshop. I know of another one in San Jo, but I need to find the name. I'll post it later.

Do you know how much he charged for your front bumper...that's what I need a shop for on mine. I'm gonna add to my first question...if you are able, post how much, on estimate, a front bumper would cost to be painted. Tahkns.

It was covered by insurance. I couldn't find the receipt. they're really expensinve. For some reason $700 sticks in my head.

$700 sounds about right....man paint shops charge an arm and a leg for a paint job.

tell me about it! Especially for pearl colors. Let me know if you guys come across any other good paint shops that might have some decent;y reasonable prices. Tahnks again 91.

Yeah I think you will. And the fronts actually all flaking off, but my buddy photoshoped that for me. The front doesn't have the best paint job, but the rest of the car is really clean.

i like it..... i love the nose piece... i am getting that for sure... i just need this job to come trough already...i've been unemployed for the past month....hell two months...my funds are kinda getting smaller:( ...it's ok i am a student :)

The nose piece itself can be had for a little over $100. Getting it painted is part of the cost that tends to suck.

i know man. i've seen them on ebay. i am gonna paint the car myself, so thats not gonna be a problem...it looks nice+it gives your radiator some air

I believe it gives more air to your intake than it does to your radiator. But it helps nonetheless.

Looks as if they are...and I don't think they offer any Z32 stuff...mostly just kit cars or kit add on's for the 240-280 ZX. So anyone else know od any paint shops that are worthy and cheap...how about decent and cheap?

It also runs more air through the IC's. IMO, it looks much better than stock also. I'm not real happy with how mine fits. Down the road, I'll probably get something different.

We're talking about the front ducted panel not front bumper...I think you were referring to the bumper.

i like the bumper as well....after the 99 z bumper that one is my fav.good taste emo

I thought you were still talking about the bumper. Depending on which ducted panel you have. The one Emo has forces air into the air intake area. The one I have is a bit different. It helps to pull air up into the air box area from below. Performance wise, it doesn't do much. It just looks better.

I agree. It means park...his last name. It's the emblem to his shop...Powertrix. So I guess it's advertising as well as meaning but I'm not a fan.

well he should have worn a T-shirt then... i dunno about putting it on the car, but it's not too big or anything....as long as he doesn't have bigger stickers like that on his doors,etc.

I think it is bad..but it's his car. For me I like the clean look. No stickers, no nothing...except paint, maybe clear lenses, and maybe jspec tails. Other than that...forget about it!

Well, the Z is a classy car in itself. There's things that you can do that add to it and things you can do that ruin that level of class.

yup...it's an exotic without an exotic price tag

Hey, don't get me wrong, I love my Z, but I don't know if I'd call it an exotic. It's near top of a list of high performance sportscars, but I would not put in the same category as a McLaren F1, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, etc.

I get asked all the time what it is, but nobody's ever asked if it was a Ferrari, or anything like that. I had one toothless redneck ask what it was, and when I told him, he leaned over and told his other toothless redneck friends, "See, I told you it was one a those Mitsuhachi things." I had a couple brainless wonders ask me if it had "push button turbo." I was speechless. I could only say, "Um, no, it's on all the time." Further proof that people are stupid.

haha...yea a girl thought it had a turbo button and swore that they were in a car once that had one. I've had a guy come up to me and ask me if that was a Ferrari, when I said no, he asked "lamborghini?" I said it was a 300zx turbo...he didn't understand until I said Nissan...:p

You know, we could put a button in our cars and label it Turbo. You don't need to hook it to anything. People wouldn't know the difference. I'm sure ricers do it all the time. Guaranteed 15 HP.

hahaha... i love coming here after a long day and laugh my ass off. man those engine start buttons are expensive as hell. man i've seen a ricer with more buttons than an F 117 cockpit. he had switches for his amps, one switch for every neon on the car...need i say more ????:D then he had LED buttons that just light up once they are on, and that was it. you could see him driving around and just glowing bc of all the damn buttons and switches

but push button turbo has to be the best thing i've ever heard :)

It was a like a '98-'99 Blue Civic, right? I've seen that car. The license plate read "ILVRICE".:p

i dunno which one are you talking about but this guy is local...he has a sticker next to his fuel door saying "Rice goes here" he's just hopeless. i feel sorry for a guy. he swears his life by "the fast and the furious" :rolleyes:
