Somone ran into my Z

So last night It was raining and I was on the on-ramp for the interstate. While driving on the on-ramp some lady doesn't slow down, disregarding the "Yield" sign and locks up into the side of my Z. Although I had alot of emotions going through me I simply stayed calm and kept it in controll (It was decently sideways after the hit b/c of the rain.) When I pulled over I got to see the damage. On the passanger side the Area right after the door is damaged, the damage goes "under" the door but did not touch the door. The damage ended about alittle b4 mid wheel well. Filed a report and had cops come out cause I didn't want to take any chances insurance wise. Ticket was her fault etc. My question is when I look at it that panel is seemless, also the sideskirt looks solidly on there, is a body shop going to be able to make this look right? I really am kind of worried, although I am not a body shop pro so I don't know how much they can do. I can get some pics up if anyone cares, but I was just wondering if anyone has had similar damage and how the repair came out. Thanks alot guys.

Alright I will get pics up. It's dark outside right now so I am not so sure it's worth me trying to show the damage, If I decide it isn't I will have some up by tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure that can be fixed. You won't be positive until you take it to a body shop and get an estimate.

dude I'd say call Z1 motorsports ask for rober and tell him U need the rear quarterpanel and sideskirt and then take it to a body shop to get replased and painted. it's a bit more expensive probably but it's better than bodyfilled and hammered quarter panels. tell him Juan directed U and he'll give U an even sweeter deal.

I currently oreder the Mass Air flow sensor, brake master cylinder, fuel filter, backing plate asembly, and e-brake cables and he told me he'll call me back with a good deal.

Maybe I am retarded, but the reason I was so worried in the first place is b/c the rear cornerpanel appears to be seemless; the piece being the back, both sides, and finally running up the back window pillars untill the t-tops start. Am I missing somthing?

They can cut out the damaged section, weld in a new piece and make it as good as new. Definitely go with the new panel as opposed to the bondo job, even if you have to pay extra.

it doesnt look like the side skirt is damaged too much, because if it was, there would be a big problem for you

Yeha jsut replace the quarter panel the reason I'm saying this is because I do body work btu i still stay away from paint. but I do kick *** body and mechanical work. so the best way to go is new. Like I said call robert over @ Z1

While you have it in the shop, u might want to consider havin an alignment check. I hope it didnt do any damage. But I honestly dont see how your wheel isnt screwed from those pics. I m sorry for you dude, i hate to see it happen. But atleast you seem to be ok.

Well I talked to Z1, apparently there is an invisible seem, covered over from the factory. Only problem is its about 500 bucks, and that is not shipped :yikes: I am going to my friend's uncle's shop tomorrow to have it appraised... the good news is I am going to have the whole car painted while I am at it... One of my friend is giving me the hook up on a full paint job... I think im going to do same color but add alot of metalic in the paint mixture itself. Don't know about that 500 dollar panel, I have no idea how hard it is to even get that panel off. I guess I ask the body shop if they think they can work w/ that... If not the insurance will pay for a panel then. Who knows, I am really torn on which way to go, new panel or dent pulled... Main reason for not going panel is the 500 bucks and me not knowing how to get the panel off at all... Yup, so thats my update.

BTW my allignment seems to be perfect, It's wierd... Car rides at 80 w/ no shakes or shimmers expect the one that was always there from a slightly dented factory rim... I have enkei's in my room waiting to go on, I was just waiting for the tires to go on the rims now.

well get a new or good pannel and take it to the body shop they should know how to replace it I mean it is a "BODY" shop becuase this is the proces of taking a dent off. knowing how"good shopsare. they will "DRILL" a hole on teh panel pull out the dent . bondo and sant the panel to hide the holes and semes, and paint that portion of the car.

I was thinking that, but figured since his other fender wasn't damaged he wouldn't go for it.
