Hoods

Ok, we all know that the Z32's engine bay is cramped and can get extremely hot even after a light run. I have been thinking about getting an aftermarket hood to let the heat escape and help keep the engine bay cooler. Which of these hoods do you guys like? Most of them look too rice. The one I like is the Pentroof type 1 but it costs $1,399. It is the least "radical" of them all and would still be functional for cooling the bay.

im liking the Escort hood, not ricey at all. but yea the pentroof type 1 does look sweet, ive seen it on a Z on Z1motorsports website and it looks slick. but i think it depends on the color of your Z if itll look good or not

I say JUN. Looking closely at the blue pentroof, it appears that it doesn't line up too well with the fender lines. That would drive me cra-zee

Yeah I see that now. I could always do a custom stock hood like SpeedyZX did his. His looks just like the Pentroof. I don't know how much work would be involved though.

One issue I didn't think about until now would be water getting on the engine. I don't know how this would be avoided.

I dont like any o those hoods. i can t seem to find a single hood that looks good w the cars. Every hood i ve seen just looks like a copy cat.

i m thinkin about just makin me one. A friend of mine can do some crazy fibre glass work. i m thinkin about just addin a NACA duct to change the looks a bit. Like on a Vspec II skyline.

The Jun looks pretty good on this car. Not too ricey. I wish it didn't have those two vents on the side though. If I knew someone who could do it I would have mine done custom like SpeedyZX's.

I prefer the stock look, the only other hood I have cared for that wasn't extremely out of price range was the Predator..

P.S.- I've noticed Spyder has came on over to Zdriver Nice change from 300zxclub and tt.net eh?

P-OWNS, lol. I too am a fan of the stock hood, your not going to notice anything from an aftermarket hood, the weight difference is too small.

That's true. The reason I was considering a different hood is ventilation.
