front bumper

Hey every one im new to this site and i was wondering if you guy could help me out. i just bought my first Z (91 z32 na) and i am in the process of bringing it back to like new condition. i was wondering if somebody could tell me where to get a new or new-ish stock front bumper cover. ive seen the 99' bumper cover on strictlyz.com but im not to enthused about spending 600 dollars. I would like to keep my Z as stock looking as possible but if sombody knows of a clean low profile aftermarket bumper cover that would look good with stock side skirts and rear bumper im all ears.
thanks

RizzSpeed has a great links page that shows many retailers that carry aftermarket bumpers:

Well you could always go with the 99' j-spec front bumper is still stock, just japanese stock . Just remember you driving a Z, don't short yourself go with the 99' J-spec, its pretty low profile and you'll get a lot of respect from anyone that knows anything about Zs. Most everyone you run into will think its stock, but you'll know better.

Being that y ou said you don't want to pay $600 for a bumper, check the classifieds in a few places and ebay and such for a used jspec, if you want to go that route. also check courtesy nissan and concept Z performance for prices on OEM bumpers.

where are you located? (>.<)!!
Local shops might have the J-spec bumper cheaper! Z1 will sell you a bumper cheaper if you tell them you're from the tt.net, 3zc.com or zdriver.com forums. UltimateZ.com also has the bumper for less than 600. If you can pick up the bumper from a shop rather than having it shipped will also save you that expense.

Thanks to 300zxboi for recommending my link page.

i live in witchita ks. there isnt much for tuner shops that i know of. there aren't many z's for that matter. Im leaning towards the jdm bumper. now i have to come up with the funds. i might set up a lemmonade stand or something. i have another question tho. are the turn signals shaped differnt on the jdm bumper. or do they sell them with the bumper because of the smoked lenses.

Ya the corners are shaped differently on the Jspec front. Thats why they come with the corners when u buy it.

O ya, forget the lemonade stand, u might as well sell beer.

beer isnt a good idea because id drink it all. and then id get arrested for being "drunk in pub-lick" and i would have to post bail with my bumper money. and that would be counter productive.

300zxBoi, what socket did you use when you changed the fascia. The ones in the fascia kit are single filament. What did you do to change to the dual filament. Took the write up from ttnet to the P&B so they would have a place to start looking. Any other sugestions?

Thanks 300zxBoi, I know others have done the change, anybody!!! The only write up is the one on ttnet. GodZilla, said to look at the write up and he thought they had used the ford socket on the vert they had just done. Speedyzx's write up on the change doesn't mention what was used, but I seem to remember him saying it was GodZilla's front they had used, the one he had on his 300 before selling it, so it was done before they put it on his car.

Thanks again 300zxBoi, I've been all thru Speedyzx's site and that's what I was saying it doesn't mention what was done on the sockets. The fascia Speedyzx used was the one that came off GodZilla's car originaly, so the change had already been made at that point. I forgot to specificaly ask Speedyzx the other day when I was out there and looking at his car. Then while I was at Strictly Z, we looked at a vert they had just done and didn't think about it then either. Later GodZilla told me on the phone to read the ttnet write up and he was thinking they had used the ford socket to do the change. When we get it done I'll let GodZilla know what we did and how.
Nothing really warns you that it has to be changed out, most of the sites just say you have to alter the wiring. They say nothing about changeing to a dual filament, I had assumed it was already dual filament and just needed the plug added to hook into the old harness. I should have researched it better, I would still have made the change, only been more prepared.

Ok, problem solved. Ended up using a MotorMite #85830 for Gm1984-76 all I had to do was cut a small nipple off the socket and change the gasket to the one include with the smoked corners and it just snapped in perfect and tight and secure. Total cost $16 w/ new clear 1157LL bulbs, total time 10 minutes.
The write up on ttnet showed a Kragen #85872, the picture of the socket box with the #'s on it has a "M" in the corner that is a MotorMite #. The Ford socket used on ttnet is a right angle type and had to be modded way to much, the GM socket I used is a straight socket but takes almost no mod to work.
This could be include with future purchases of the front fascia from Strictly Z. I talked to GodZilla about it last night. He has all the info to use.
Thanks everyone.
