Can you install a double din reciever on a 300ZX
I have a 91 300 ZX and I was looking at a dvd player that is a double din. Is there a kit or method for installing a double din reciever on a 91 300zx?
|
no kit. no method. you'll have to custom fab it all.
|
cutting.... that would be some fabbing, not worth it, you can get a flip out that will fit in the stock spot that works jsut fine, plus its a little pointless unless you road trip alot with passengers so they can watch while you try to drive :D
my freind has one and its touch screen got it for like 200 dollars and is actually an awesome CD player as well, honestly the only one i have ever been comfortable to say well worth the money, cause it was a steal!!! |
those big double DIN DVD units just SCREAM "steal me" too. i wouldnt bother with it.

300 ZX dvd player/tv tuner
Anyone have a recommendation on a single din reciever that has a dvd player and tv tuner. Costco has a unit for $219 but it doesn't have tv tuner.
|
why the hell would u need a tv tunner? this is uhhh..... yeah.... what would you get? basic stations over the antenna? like what is that 8 stations? and crappy and fuzzy.... not worth it.
|
What a gross waste of $.

Now THAT'S the $HIT!!! No seriously... I have an single DIN 7.5" slide out screen in my Grand Cherokee (I REFUSE to install it in my Conv. Z cuz it DOES SCREAM "Steal Me!!!"), with built in TV Tuner... and after installing the dual input antenna's I get 6 stations clearly (for the most part) around town. It's great for keeping up with the football scores on the way to/from the bar. But my ex lived in NYC (3.5 hours from me :( ) and it was nice 'watching' a movie on the way there or back...made the time FLY. Legal....HELL NO!!! But so is speeding. lol If you're serious about installing one... get a single DIN slide out unit, (and a good security system). Make sure to connect it to the E-brake so it's "legal". (when driving, pulling the e-brake ONE CLICK, and it should work). I hold NO responsibility for your tickets. Drive carefully. |

I agree. my car came with a TV/radio get-up and its nothing but trouble for me. i cant wait for it to get stolen |
only time i approved of one was in my buddies civic when we were driving down to indianapolis a couple years ago. he had his full system in and brought PS2 with GTA san andreas i think, that made teh time fly lol.
|
I usually have people with me, and it's more for THEIR benefit then mine... I drive 6-7 hours to the beach a few times a year, plus other trips that are 3 plus hours. I, too, hook up the PS2 or XBOX on trips, make sthe time fly.
Throwing keys in lake tomorrow. |

Did you know a 300ZX is a car? Did you know that you're supposed to drive a car, not watch movies in it?
I can't stand people who think they need DVD players in their cars... especially people who want to bastardize a 300ZX by taking it from "GT car" to "rolling home entertainment center." |
