beat for my Z

Im thinking about getting subs for my ride. I was looking into those JL Audio Stealthboxes and they look very good, but I would like to know how much they run for; Im thinking its not very cheap, but they look pretty theft proof... if thats not good, what other options do I have???

They're not cheap at all. Over $500 without shipping. What I would do if I were you (it sucks but it works - well) is invest in a good alarm and buy a hatch cover (if you don't already have one). Your subs will be invisible to wannabe thieves and if they even try then you'll know quick (and so will everyone within 200 yards of your car - those sirens are LOUD!).

In case you're wondering how much a good alarm costs, I was quoted $380 installed for a nice 2 way alarm. That includes keyless entry, remote start (manual transmission) and alarm with chirper (the w00t w00t thing when you lock your car).

Has anyone purchased from this guy? It looks real nice. The only thing I don't like is that there's no air flowing to the amp.

What subs do you guys have or recommend? I have a kicker solobaric that I had in my Z31 for a couple years, so it's 7+ years old now. It's old, but it works.

well of course im gonna say this, but
mtx subs are sweet and they hit pretty dang hard
the new jl audio subs are pretty good
the only problem with these two is that you will most likely have to fork out a fair amount of money to get them
the alpine type-r's are good...not too expensive
ive heard bad stories about audiobahns

Anyone ever heard an Infinity Perfect 10? A friend of mine used to work as a custom stereo installer for a small shop in San Mateo, CA. He knows my music tastes and budget. He said these are good. He heard it with a PPI amp and said it was great. It requires a small enclosure (.9 cubic ft) and are pretty affordable too. Available through Crutchfield. Time to call Zwrecker.

IF you ask me, i would go with a remote pager alarm. I have a Autostart (i think thats what its called) pager remote. This thing has remote start, alarm, trunk release, turbo timer, parking toll meter timer, ect ect. As for an amp i would go Either AUDIOBAHN, US AMPS, or MA AUDIO because they are all one ohm stable. Im running 4000 watts in my car. any questions id love to help.

Hi, saw your thread. I have a full blown Z show car i've been working on 6 years & sell car A/V, & body kits. Get an alarm first, Then the system or you may be buying paying for a second system later plus damage to the car. $380.00 plus for an alarm, your getting robbed! I can you one that does everthing you mentioned-Remote start, locks, pager alarm-w-LED display, And you can add window roll up modules for $40. As far as quality, i've had mine installed for 4 years now. Price for a fellow Z car owner- $200.00. Email me @ rampageaudioperformance@msn.com and i'll send you some pics of my crazy Audiobahn install on my 92' Z, if your in Atlanta for NOPI this year look for my white & blue Z in the Audiobahn booth. Well hope i've been some help. Best regards, Randy
