Does anyone know what years & models were included on the Z31 fuel injector recall?

Thanks bro. So the injectors themselves aren't to be replaced... just a part of the wiring harness?

Even though there was a recall on all year 300ZX injectors, it seemed like a small portion of them actually went faulty. Any of you guys still running original Z31 injectors? Cus my 280ZX Injectors went bad or some of them did and I'm running my set of original Z31 injectors in my 280ZX.

I had mine replaced last year this time. The recall is from 1995 but it coveres all z31. Call Nissan with the vin. Also find the right garage to do it. The ## mine up and cracked wires in the harness. Nothing but problems. Was towed in Jan 1, 05 and I still don't have it running. They ended up blowing a head gasket and I have to sue for the repair.

The used a trainee. So CHECK YOUR SERVICE DEPT. REPUTATION!!! They know me by first name at corporate. $1,300 repair for heads on the vg30E. I bought a NEW (not rebuilt) short block with a rebuilt head (Longblock) for $1,750. Hell of a wait but they are gonna pay and I STILL have to make sure there aren't any more wiring problems after the swap. My claim remains open.

Call 1-800-nissan and give them your vin number. If you call the dealership and ask them it will more than likely take a few business days to get a reply. I have an 87 and I called and mine never had the recall. Seems that it is a vin specific recall. There was probably just a bad batch they went through.
And yes, if your car needs the recall it will be fixed for free.

No. It's NOT VIN specific. It's for all year Z31s, 87-88 200SX with the VG30, and M30s.

That's what Nissan told me. They told me my car never had the recall on it so therefore I would consider it vin specific. Mine is an 87 na. If it includes all z31s then why didn't mine have the recall? Not arguing w/ you, I just am saying what I was told.

Well, if it hadn't been done on your car, then you should have it done.

The only reason they check the VIN is to determine if it has already been performed or not.

Ask them again and if they say no, tell them that when your Z catches fire you're going to sue them for not doing the recall.

So is Nissan lying to me or has it already been fixed and they just didn't tell me?

Just called Nissan, the number listed on the recall, and they said my 1987 300zx was still covered and had not been done, They also said the recall does not expire and to take to a dealer to have to work done.

It will be kind of nice to have new injectors put in after 128K miles. Hope they do it right and it runs even better than it does now.

A friend with an '86 300ZX called two different dealerships just now. First one said the Campain Bulletin did not exist.
Second one said it was issued in 1995 and was only good for 10 years so as of 2006 they are no longer doing this repair.
What should I do to help? call them up and yell?

(I have not yet looked for the yellow tape though, I'll try that first)

AZ-Zbum, I saw your link to the Bulletin's 200 page PDF. I did not see anything about this bulletin expiring... hmmm...

its against the law for a company to refuse to do repairs based on a recall. they can get into a huge world of hurt by not repairing faulty items. just how it goes.

It's not a recall, it's a voluntary service campaign. The best bet is to call Nissan North America directly and have them notify a local dealer that it should be done. I have heard many stories of dealers refusing to do it. Some say that your VIN isn't in the data base for eligibility. They will use any reason to avoid doing it. Both my 87 T's have been done. You just have to be persistant.
