Timing Belt Maintenance

Hello! I have a 1986 NA Z31 that I purchased recently, and I’m not sure when the timing belt has been replaced. Due to my circumstances I would really prefer to not change the belt now.

So I guess my question is, is there a way to check the condition of the belt without excessive disassembly?

Thank you and have a great day,
maridia

Take off everything that is in the way of removing the front engine cover so you can see the timing belt.
How many miles on the engine? I think it’s suppose to be changed at 60K, someone correct me if I’m wrong.
When I did mine years ago the belt came with a sticker that you put under the hood with the date and mileage when it was done.
