Time to rebuild my VG30ET

Anyone have the time to suggest some links to sites with reputable rebuild kits. Turbo of course, and .20 or .04 bore. Any possibilities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

Ive, since posting this, checked out Z Car Barbies Thread: Where to buy parts for 300ZXs(Z31).. and will most likely not need any replies. Thanks... to others, use the "search" its very thorough.

What are the compression numbers on the cylinders? Just curious why you think you need to rebuild the motor.

Shoot.. haven't even bothered. Of the 3 VGs I own this one has the most miles(200,000+), last owner was hard on her, and I don't baby her... mainly the last 18 months shes really been loosing her "umph". I keep up the maintenance, so while I got the time. Why not?

Do a compression test. Out of all of my z31's, I have only owned one that had less the 200k miles.

A compression test isn't going to dissuade my decision.. or bore it .40 over. But I appreciate everyones concerns.

If you aren't going to listen to us on this, then what makes you think you are going to listen to our suggestions period? Ignorance only leads to a life of pain and empty wallets when it comes to cars.

Now quit being retarded and do a compression test. Me and Zbum are on almost every z31 site on the internet, so don't think you can ignore us and go to different forum..

The lack of umph could be the turbo going bad, intake leaks, dirty injectors, clogged fuel filter, needing a basic tune-up, etc.

Why spend unnecessary money to rebuild a motor just to find out you had a bad fuel filter? There is no reason to rebuild a motor if the engine still has good compression.

Yeah, you could realize after you spend $1k rebuilding the motor that all you needed where $20 in tune up parts, or that your turbo is shot and will cost another $500 to rebuild.

I can't imagine a more splendid way to spend $1520... but Ill keep you updated so you can say, 'I told you so.' And of course Im doing a compression test before, and a few after.. among many other tasks. If I feel the need, Ill post test results and complications as they occur. I wouldn't wait with anticipation though.

Or... here's a better idea...

You could fix the car properly, save $1500, and give it to us ZDriver members. That would be better spent than rebuilding a motor that doesn't need to be rebuilt.
