At-mt
At-mt
ok.. I know it was on here before but I dont see it anymore....
What is all needed to do for the At-Mt transfer? I have the entire assembly together but now I have to do the eletrical stuff... any veterans on this affair? and by the way, check driveshafts before making your car worthless..
where the shaft plugs into the tranny is different from a AT and a MT. Bigger input. anyways, the fast/ correct response is needed. for the car is sitting, and riding my bike eight miles one way every day to work and 2 am everynight is getting old.
Thanks for the help,
Wolfman

You will need to find a wiring diagram for the cluster of wires that ran to the AT. Find the 2 wires for the neatral safety switch, (this is why your car wont start, it thinks it's in gear.) Now wire it up to a switch. I used the switch fr the OD on the AT shifter and placed it in the center console. minimal wiring and acts as an anti-theft device. Another option is wiring it up to a stock MT switch on the pedal assembly.
Now that will get it up and going.
Next step is hooking up the reverse lights. Real simple. Find those two wires from the AT wire cluster and hook 'em up to the 2 wires on the reverse lamp swith, on the passanger side of the MT. IF I remember correctly, it does not matter what order you attatch these.
As for the rest of the wires in that cluster, just cap them and zip-tie it to something out of the way.
Next is the TPS. You don't "need" this, but it's fairly cheap to do, so go for it. The MT and AT setups on these are diffirent. Or you can do a search on how to adjust it to work on the MT. I think ZBum has a link on how to do that.
Oh, and heres the original thread I posted on this:
