MAF harness question

for the JWT 450 HP upgrade which requires the '93 cobra SVT MAF, should there be continuity when testing pin #36 with #26 on the 16 pin connector to the ECU after modifing the harness to the Ford harness/pigtail?

can any body tell me how to bench test the cobra MAF as my Z is currently not running.

thanks

Why are you testing pin 36, and 16? They don't have anything to do w/ the MAF. Hopefully you're not just randomly cross testing connections. 36 is ground, so I would advise against grounding other wires to pin 36.

Are you following the JWT pdf instructions? http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/wol...%20UPGRADE.PDF

in the factory service manual EF&EC page 54 testing the air flow meter...as an insultation check, it indicates several different terminal pair checks for resistance......one of the combos is 36 and 26.

all my problems started with a reverse polarity. car is firing but not catching....sent the ECU to JWT to replace the burn out diode which is for the Power Input....Ben at JWT said to check the wiring for the MAF or EFI relay which might have caused this burn out. I changed out the relay..no change. Also changed out the fusible link for the battery...no other revelant codes come up with my stock 86 ECU.

fuel pressure= good
spark=good
power to injectors=good

when i checked my power transistor ... I also get continuity when testing pin #3 on the 20 pin connector with ground..which according to page 60, i should not be getting. But i checked with another transistor and i get the same thing?.....2 bum transistors??

suggestion???
thanks

I forgot to mention... i've been running the 450 upgrade for 2 years with no problems..until the reverse polarity incident....could i have overloaded the MAF wiring....like i said i did burn out the diode related also to MAF wiring

It may have killed the MAF as well. The Ford Cobra forums probably have a way to test that MAF. The only thing I can think of is checking to make sure the hot wire is still in one piece, and doing OHM tests on the pins.
